Texans In the Field: Currently there are 23 players in the field who were either born or live in the state of Texas - Cameron Beckman, Ben Crane, Martin Flores, Harrison Frazar, Bobby Gates, Brian Gay, J.J. Henry, John Huh, Danny Lee, Justin Leonard, Jeff Maggert, Troy Matteson, Sean O’Hair, Joe Ogilvie, Ryan Palmer, John Peterson, John Rollins, Jordan Spieth, Chris Stroud, Scott Verplank, David von Hoffmann, Johnson Wagner, and Jimmy Walker.

Major Champions: Currently 13 major champions are scheduled to compete - Mark Calcavecchia (British), Ben Curtis (British), Ernie Els (2 U.S. Open, 2 British ), Jim Furyk (U.S. Open), Retief Goosen (2 U.S. Opens), Padraig Harrington (2 British, 1 U.S. Open), Trevor Immelman (Masters), Zach Johnson (Masters), Justin Leonard (British), Phil Mickelson (3 Masters, PGA, British), Geoff Ogilvy (U.S. Open), David Toms (PGA Championship) and Mike Weir (Masters).

Season Champions: With the PGA TOUR’s new wraparound schedule that includes events held during the 2013 calendar, there are five champions of the current FedExCup season who are scheduled to play here. On Sunday, John Senden won the Valspar Championship and Chesson Hadley won in Puerto Rico for his first PGA TOUR victory. San Antonio’s Jimmy Walker, winner of the Frys.com in 2013 and the Sony Open in Hawaii and AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in 2014 will be here as will Zach Johnson (Hyundai Tournament of Champions).

Masters Competitors: There are currently 15 players in the Valero Texas Open field who are scheduled to compete in the Masters Tournament in three weeks.

Valero Texas Open Champions: There are six players in the field who have won here in San Antonio - Ben Curtis (2012), Tim Herron (1997), Zach Johnson (2008, 2009), Martin Laird (2013), Justin Leonard (2000, 2001, 2007) and Brendan Steele (2011).

Current FedExCup Standings: There are 16 of the top 30 players on the current FedExCup standings who are in the field next week.
