First Round Interview with Steven Fisk

Q. Steven, 4 under par, tale of two nines there, nine pars on the front and then you got it really going on the back. If you can comment on your round?

STEVEN FISK: Yeah, I'd say the bogey on 10 kind of ticked me off a little bit, so kind of refocused me and was able to get it going a bit.

Q. Take us through that stretch, 11 through 16. Which of those birdies really stand out?

STEVEN FISK: The one on 11 probably. It had been a minute since I made a birdie going back to last week, I was just parring everything to death. Then I had a little chipin on 13, I think's the par 3, from just off the green so that was kind of a bonus.

Q. I know it's still early, but you moved up six spots to No. 3 in the Aon Swing 5 to possibly get into RBC Heritage. Is that something you're thinking about or is it just too early right now?

STEVEN FISK: I'd say it's something I'm aware of, but not thinking about. It's not worth  good golf this week will take care of everything.

Q. Going through the practice rounds and then obviously today, what about this course sets up well for you?

STEVEN FISK: I think there's some penalties off the tee. I generally drive the ball pretty straight so I think that can be a key. Just making good decisions. Greens got just enough bounce to them that they can get tricky. Just trying to play the course the way you're supposed to.

Q. Your approach play is really coming around these last four events. Anything in specific you're working on?

STEVEN FISK: I switched irons at the Cognizant, so my 6 through 9iron, I finally left my old blades and put in like a really small cavity back, so maybe that's all the difference.

Q. You won the Club Car Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour this week last year. They're playing there this week. Any advice for those guys?

STEVEN FISK: Man, I don't know if I have any advice, but I hope it's in the same shape this year as it was last year. It was unbelievable, greens were perfect, everything was great. It's kind of the same thing out here. You know, the tee shots out there aren't overly demanding, but it's definitely a second shot golf course. So if you can be smart into the greens and get the putter working, you can make some birdies.
