Final Round Interview with Maverick McNealy

Q. Maverick, your third start here at the Valero Texas Open, your best finish by far. Just how pleased are you with your performance this week in tough conditions?

MAVERICK McNEALY: It was really good. I felt like I tightened things up every day as the week went on and that's exactly what the goal was this week. Planned to play two before the Masters and Hilton Head and so far, so good. I accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish. There were a few kinks to work out last week and this week and feels like my game's in a really good spot.

Q. Could you go into a little bit more about what you came into this week trying to accomplish?

MAVERICK McNEALY: Last week I felt like I hit it pretty well. There were a few things that were getting off. For one, I was getting a little bit out ahead of the golf ball and cleaned that up in Houston, and this week I was coming out of my posture just a little bit, cleaned that up again, hit that really well in the wind. My putter and lie angle got off and fixed that last week and putted really well this week I thought. So really pleased with getting those things in order.

Q. How excited are you to bring great form into your Masters debut?

MAVERICK McNEALY: It's all going to according to plan. You never really know what's going to happen, that's the crazy thing about this game is you can do everything right and it won't go your way. On my end I think I've done everything in my preparation to give me a great chance to play well next week and that's all I can ask for.
