Third Round Interview with Maverick McNealy
Q. Maverick, 1-under 71 today with a nice little birdie at the end. How do you feel you played out there today?
MAVERICK McNEALY: It was really hard. It was a completely different golf course. All the easy holes turned into the hardest holes and all the hardest holes turned into the easy ones today. Again, it's tight landing areas and I was really, really pleased with the score I shot.
Q. How do you plan your way around a golf course where you have hard greens as well as difficult winds that make it harder to fly the ball onto them?
MAVERICK McNEALY: Well, you know, a little bit of the winds is taking into account with the setup, there's not going to be as many front flags downwind. There was one on 13 and it was one you were not going to hit it close to. For the most part a lot of the intothewind holes had front flags and the downwind holes had back flags and it gives you a chance to hit a shot close, but it was definitely difficult today.
Q. Late birdie there as well with a nice putt in front of a big crowd. How do you feel your momentum is heading into Sunday?
MAVERICK McNEALY: I'm excited. I played a good round today. I know it's going to go really cold tomorrow morning and it's going to warm up as the day goes on, so if that bought me an extra hour and a little bit warmer temperature when I do go play, that's a win. Every shot matters, and it's a very bunched leaderboard, so a good one tomorrow will go a long way.
