Third Round Interview with Keith Mitchell

Q. Keith, 1over 73 today. How did you manage to stay in it just with tough conditions?

KEITH MITCHELL: I hit two horrible shots on 4 and 5 to make two bogeys. It was probably fortunate. Other than that, I just kind of stayed with it. I wish I had the putt back on 14 and 16, but all in all the golf course is playing so hard today, if you told me I would have played 1 under on the way in, starting on six tee, I probably would have taken it.

Q. And then you had the birdie on 17 as well. How big is that just to try to steal some momentum heading into tomorrow?

KEITH MITCHELL: That and 14 were really the only two birdie chances we had all day. Everything else was you were just trying to find a green, trying to find a way to just stop the ball.

I hit a decent 3-wood on 17 and was fortunate to get up and down. Just I wish I was closer to Brian. He made two birdies coming in. You know, still got a chance.

Q. You'll be in that secondtolast group tomorrow. What's your mindset heading into tomorrow to try to hunt Brian and those leaders down?

KEITH MITCHELL: He's going to have to come backwards for us to catch him, especially tomorrow with the wind looking even stronger, it's going to be today played hard, tomorrow might even play harder. It's going to be a test and you're going to have to win with pars.
