Second Round Interview with Emiliano Grillo

Q. Second consecutive 69, if we can get some comments on your second round.

EMILIANO GRILLO: Yeah, I played well. I kept the ball in play and I made a few putts.

Q. Birdied two out of your last three, take us through those two birdies if you can.

EMILIANO GRILLO: Yeah, good number on 17, solid 7iron, pitched a little longer than we expected and finished just short of the hole three feet.

And then 17, just tee shot wasn't great but it went straight. Then a good number with a lob wedge from the fairway to whatever, nine feet, 10 feet.

Q. Just two shots back right now, just your mindset going into the weekend?

EMILIANO GRILLO: Yeah, same as every day, try to get it in the fairway, hit it close, make the putt. Days don't change.

Q. Emiliano, how do you feel your game is trending right now going into a big stretch of the season?

EMILIANO GRILLO: Yeah, definitely trending. I wouldn't call a big stretch of the season because I'm not in the majors or big events. For now it's just more tournaments, just more regular tournaments. But yeah, definitely trending, going the right direction. I'm putting well and starting to see some good signs.

Q. How do you keep the weekend from maybe getting ahead of yourself when you know that a win here and a good finish here could be helpful in potentially getting into the Masters, but also the reorganization of the priority list that is also a thing?

EMILIANO GRILLO: If I get myself ahead, I'm not going to win, so two choices. I either play my game and I go one shot at a time or I probably finish middle of the pack. That's kind of how it goes out here. Just got to go out and play well and worry about my game.
