Second Round Interview with Si Woo Kim

Q. Quite the loud roar today. Why don't we start with the big shot at 16.

SI WOO KIM: This wind's kind of like tough, like left and I'm playing always draw ball, but pin's tight right and then right at the bunker. I'm just trying start left edge of the bunker. Hit it like really good and then wind's kind of come in. Perfect number, too.

Q. Have you ever had a roar, a crowd roar that loud?

SI WOO KIM: No. Last like hole-in-one a lot, but never this loud, first time.

Q. You've got a four-shot lead heading into the weekend. Are you able to relax a little bit tonight? Do you change anything or do you stay doing what you're doing?

SI WOO KIM: Yeah, first two days, pretty good, everything feeling good and then my body feels good. I don't want to change anything. Like I just want to do the same, try to do weekend.

Q. What did you hit on the 16th?

SI WOO KIM: 9-iron.

Q. What is your first reaction or the thought that goes through your head when you see that shot bounce in?

SI WOO KIM: I saw the bounce, but I never see it go in. In front of those guys like hole-out.

Q. Have you ever had a hole-in-one where you're in this sort of a prime position at the top of the leaderboard?

SI WOO KIM: No, first time.

Q. And what does that mean? How does it impact you moving forward?

SI WOO KIM: Yeah, I saw the leaderboard every back nine and I'm like T-1 or solo lead. I saw the solo lead last four holes. I can make birdie, just trying to go aggressive.

Q. How many holes in one have you made?

SI WOO KIM: Like six, seven times.

Q. All on the PGA TOUR?

SI WOO KIM: No, this is my second time PGA TOUR.

Q. When was the first one?

SI WOO KIM: First one, like in L.A.

Q. At Riviera?

SI WOO KIM: No, like public, Wilson and Harding.
