The Charles Schwab Challenge, the first event in the restart of the 2019-20 PGA TOUR season, starts today. The tournament includes the top five players in the Official World Golf Ranking – the first time it’s happened for this Fort Worth event since 1986.

No. 1 Rory McIlroy, the reigning FedExCup champ, and No. 4 Justin Thomas are playing at Colonial for the first time in their PGA TOUR careers. No. 2 Jon Rahm is making his fourth start and No. 3 Brooks Koepka is making his second. No. 5 Dustin Johnson is making his third Colonial start, but his first since 2014.

Thomas and McIlroy are among the top nine players in the FedExCup standings -- led by Sungjae Im -- who have committed to play. Of the top 20 in the standings, 17 will be at Colonial, including defending champ Kevin Na, who is 11th.

The tournament was originally slated for May 21-24 but was moved to June 11-14 after the COVID-19 pandemic forced several schedule changes for the PGA TOUR.

The Charles Schwab Challenge will be the first full PGA TOUR event to be staged since the season went on hiatus after the pandemic took hold during THE PLAYERS Championship in March, forcing its cancellation after the first round, and impacted the Valero Texas Open slated for the first week in April. The Charles Schwab Challenge will be played without onsite access for fans and under strict health and safety protocols.

We wish the PGA TOUR players and our fellow Texas tournament good luck this week!

Happy Father’s Day
Father’s Day is just two weeks away, on June 21, and we want to recognize and celebrate all that they do throughout the year to mold, encourage, inspire and support children. Thanks to the dads, grandfathers, uncles, coaches, teachers, brothers, and friends that show love and act as role models. We honor you!

We want to help you celebrate with activities and ideas for the special loved ones in your life. Charley Hoffman, 2016 Valero Texas Open champion and his wife Stacy shared with us “Grandpa Charley’s Pancake & Waffle Batter” recipe – a great Father’s Day breakfast idea! Valero is sharing a fun way to make s’mores that includes a lesson in the science behind solar power. We also hope you can enjoy these activites to make this Father’s Day extra special.
