As a key first point of contact for our spectators and fans, members of the admissions committee are responsible for ensuring that all guests are admitted to the tournament with the correct credentials. Requirements for this committee are, but not limited to a pleasant personality, standing for long periods of time and the ability to provide tournament information and directions.

 Ambassadors

Enthusiastic and friendly volunteers are needed to act as Spectator Ambassadors. Volunteers will be stationed at the main Spectator Drop-off and VIP entrance areas, as well as various locations on the golf course, and will be responsible for interacting with spectators, answering questions, helping locate players/hole locations, etc.

 Broadcast

Support CBS/Golf Channel broadcast primarily as on-course spotters, scorers and announcer drivers. Support PGA Tour Radio broadcast as radio announcer drivers. Must be able to walk course and be very familiar with golf etiquette and rules. Important: Individual MUST be able to work all 4 days during Broadcast (Thursday – Sunday).

 Caddie Services

Serve as a liaison between the tournament and caddies; register caddies, issue and collect caddie bibs with nameplates.

 Evacuation

Transport players and caddies to and from the course in the event of a suspension of play or other circumstance requiring players to leave the course. When not performing primary duties, you may be required to assist other volunteer committees, greet and provide general information and directions to spectators. Must be friendly, courteous, outgoing, and dependable. In addition, you must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and must attend the evacuation routes training session the week prior to the tournament. Days needed: Weekend prior to tournament (pick up vehicles and deliver to course), Mon-Sun of tournament week, return vehicles Sunday after play or Monday morning after tournament. Day long shifts during tournament play.

 Fan Fest/ Expo

Assist sponsoring companies in Fan Fest area with load in/load out of Expo space, monitor area throughout tournament week and ensure it is clean and presentable.

 Gallery Control

Marshal’s will ensure fair play, manage crowd control, so as to ensure the safety of both the Players/Caddies inside the ropes and the gallery outside the ropes. Golf knowledge is beneficial. May be long periods of standing and walking in hot/humid conditions. Gallery Control volunteers are required to sign up for shifts Wednesday through Sunday of tournament week. (Gallery Control does not have any other days required for Marshal’s.)

 Golf Carts

Inventory, organize, and issue golf carts to authorized vendors, staff, and other volunteer committee members. Account for all golf carts at the end of the day and making sure the golf cart is charging and or ready for use the next day. Moderate amounts of walking and standing. Friendly and engaging personality needed for this position dealing with the public.

Host and greet guests in Skyboxes, record entry with proper credentials at all Hospitality Skybox locations. People who like to have fun, smile a lot and be on their feet are best here.

 Media Services

The Media Services Committee works with our Media Director and Volunteer Chair to ensure that local and national media have the support needed to produce their stories about the tournament and to ensure that attending media have a proper working environment. Previous experience working in the Media area at another PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS or Web.com Tour event is valuable.

 Military Affairs

 Off-Site Transportation

Provide transportation for the professional players and wives. Requires some driving in congested areas and knowledge of the city; At least 21 years of age, must have valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Shuttle players, caddies and VIPs using multi-passenger golf carts. Must be at least 21 years of age with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Previous experience driving a golf cart required.

 Parking

Assist setting up, keeping clean, and tearing down parking lots. As vehicles enter lots, assist in verifying parking passes, then directing the vehicles where to park according to the loading plan for each lot. The various lots will be designated for one, some or all of our various patrons including: vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators.

 Player Services

Assist with social activities, childcare, transportation, reservations, and special needs for players and their families. Strong interpersonal skills, outgoing, enthusiastic and flexibility needed; Tournament week only.

 Practice Facility

The Practice Facility Committee is responsible for the set up/tear down of the practice facility and the day to day operations of the area that includes the driving range, putting green, chipping green and the surrounding spectator areas. As PGA TOUR professionals enter and exit the range, volunteers will be responsible for setting up nameplates that identify each player, providing the players golf balls and general assistance. Marshaling of the area and crowd control will be required as well as allowing properly credentialed people in the area. Knowledge of the players is helpful, but not necessary. This position works outside all day and volunteers must be comfortable with and prepared for all weather conditions. Volunteers are needed from Monday through Sunday and will be staffed from 6AM until 7:30PM each day.

 Pro Vehicles

Assist with staging of courtesy vehicles at the airport, private terminals, and golf course. Greet players and families arriving at airport, conduct quick administrative documentation, and assist with the loading of player/families luggage. Assist players with the return of the vehicle when departing. Work location,"San Antonio airport. Driver license and proof of insurance required. Some lifting and some late hours, setup starts the week before the tournament and returning of vehicles a day or so after the tournament ends.

 Pro-Am

Assist with set-up, Pro-Am gift distribution, Pro-Am Registration, Pro-Am Pairings parties; and Pro-Am Tournaments. Must be able to stand for long periods of time with occasional moderate lifting. Days required: Saturday (April 8). Saturday,"Thursday (April 15,"20) and Saturday (April 22).

 Shotlink

This committee provides volunteers to operate the laser equipment for the PGA ShotLink operations. The ShotLink system collects and disseminates scoring and statistical data on every shot by every player in real-time. Laser equipment is located on fairways and greens requiring two volunteers at each laser. The volunteers must be present before the first player arrives and maintain continuous operation until the last players passes.

 Standard Bearers

This is considered a "physical" position, as you will walk and carry a sign for an entire round of golf (approximately 4.5 to 6.5 hours). Minimum age for a Standard Bearer is 14, along with knowledge of the game of golf, you must be able to walk 18 holes on the TPC San Antonio Oaks Course. Standard Bearers must volunteer to work a minimum of three rounds, at least two of those rounds must be on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Another area to assist and does not require walking the course is the SB Operations Volunteer. (Driving Cart, Building signs, etc.)

 Strike Force

Assist with various set-up projects onsite and in the operations compound. Some project assistance needed prior to tournament week. Help place fencing for crowd control and light construction work as needed. Position requires walking, standing, heavy lifting and familiarity with common hand tools. Help needed late March through late April.

Using a computer or iPad scanning barcodes to check volunteers in and out for their shifts. Periods of non-activity due to volunteers shift schedules.

 Volunteer Services

Oversee all volunteer food presentation and distribution. Keep the volunteer tent clean, organized and inviting. Create and maintain a volunteer registration process. Must be energetic and very friendly. Help distribute volunteers’ badges and uniforms 3 to 4 weeks prior to tournament. Standing for long periods of time and heavy lifting required.

 Walking Scorers

This committee will walk 18 holes inside the ropes with the professional golfers. Volunteers will carry a handheld computer device (Symbol) and input stroke, scoring and statistical information. Scorers will also have constant voice communication with PGA TOUR staff. Volunteers must have knowledge of golf. Training is mandatory, they will attend walking scorer and laser training. Scorers will participate in one Laser shift. Wednesday is required for ALL walking scorer volunteers.
