2015 Valero Texas Open Birdies For Charity®: One Lucky Donor Wins Ford Mustang

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The Birdies for Charity® campaign is a charitable initiative organized and supported by the Valero Texas Open, providing over 150 worthy organizations throughout the greater San Antonio community and beyond with a fun and unique fundraising platform. Individuals who made pledges or monetary contributions to Birdies for Charity had the chance to participate in one of several give-away contests provided by the Valero Texas Open.

One lucky donor won a brand new car through the Donor Attendance contest. Anyone who made a contribution to Birdies for Charity and attended at least one day of the Valero Texas Open (Thursday-Sunday) was entered into a grand prize drawing to win a brand-new 2015 50th Anniversary Ford Mustang courtesy of South Texas Ford Dealers.

Don White, accompanied by his wife, was greeted Saturday, May 16 at USO of San Antonio by representatives of the Valero Texas Open, USO of San Antonio and Jordan Ford (representing South Texas Ford Dealers) when they presented him keys to his new car.

A fan of golf and avid Valero Texas Open volunteer, White had been invited to join the USO for lunch as a part of the celebration of Armed Forces Day and believed he was receiving a small prize for his contribution through Birdies for Charity. Little did know he had won the grand prize, a two-year lease on a 50th Anniversary Ford Mustang.

The Birdies for Charity donation that made winning this grand prize possible for White, was in support of USO of San Antonio whose mission is to lift the spirits of troops and their families. (http://us.uso.org/sanantonio/)

As White climbed into his new vehicle and got settled in, he exclaimed, “Man! This makes me feel like I am seventeen years old again!”
