Social Event E-Notes for March 24-30, 2014

The Valero Texas Open is excited to offer a new event called the Web.com Small Business Summit -- a program to educate small and medium sized businesses on how to successfully market their business online.  Scheduled for Thursday, March 27th (10:00am-1:00pm), this new initiative is FREE of charge to all attendees and everyone who attends will also receive two complimentary general admission tickets to enjoy the Valero Texas Open.

On Saturday, March 29 the Valero Texas Open will host its annual After Party. Once the last putt drops, bar and concession service will continue into the evening, backyard games will be rolled out and live music will be performed by the ever popular ‘80’s cover band, The Spazmatics. The After Party will begin at approximately 5 p.m. and conclude around 9 p.m. While the concert is complimentary for all tournament spectators on Saturday, those just interested in attending the concert will pay $25 at the gate. College students receive FREE admission after 2 p.m. with college ID.

For the first time ever, the Valero Texas Open is proud to debut its Charity Pavilion, located in Fan Fest at the main spectator entrance. The Charity Pavilion will showcase multiple banners and murals visually representing the charities that benefit from tournament proceeds, from Birdies for Charity and Benefit for Children. It will also celebrate the Drive to $100 Million for Charities as the upcoming milestone for the Valero Texas Open and Benefit for Children. We look forward to kicking off this new venue and making it a cornerstone experience each year for spectators.

Spectators can make a donation for the first time to a participating Birdies for Charity organization throughout tournament week. Individuals can make a donation to their favorite charity or school through a one-time donation or make a pledge, like a walk-a-thon, but instead of donating per mile, make a pledge for every birdie made at the Valero Texas Open. The 2013 Valero Texas Open had 1,640 birdies made, so a pledge of $0.01 yielded a donation of $16.40. 100% of the contribution made will directly benefit the selected charity or school.

Donors who make a donation prior to tournament week are encouraged to attend Thursday – Sunday and check in at the Birdies for Charity table within the Charity Pavilion to be entered into the drawing for a brand-new Ford Fiesta, compliments of South Texas Ford Dealers. Spectators that make a contribution onsite will also be entered into the drawing. When a donor attends all four days, then will have four entries in the drawing. The winner will be announced Thursday, April 17.

The all-new Michelob ULTRA Patio at 17 offers stunning views from this multi-level venue featuring open-air dining, a second story covered viewing deck, an outdoor patio with umbrella table seating and tiered seats, all positioned behind the 17th green, adjacent to Fan Fest and the main spectator entrance. Single day tickets are only $75 and $250 for a four day pass.

TICKETS: Good Any One Day tickets are available for sale online at www.ValeroTexasOpen.com for $20 and at participating Corner Stores and all H-E-B grocery stores. Tickets are available for $25 at the gate.

Children 12 & under are FREE compliments of SeaWorld of San Antonio.
