Valero Texas Open: 12 Days Of Giving 
December 1-12


SAN ANTONIO, TX – Valero Texas Open is pleased to announce the all-new “12 Days of Giving” campaign that will take place December 1-12. Ten lucky charities in attendance at San Antonio’s Birdies for Charity® fundraising kick-off last month, along with one from Corpus Christi and one from Austin will be participating in this new initiative. On the charity’s respective date, they will receive $5 proceeds from each Good-Any-One-Day ticket (retail $20 per ticket) sold online at www.ValeroTexasOpen.com.


The Valero Texas Open will also match up to an additional $500 per charity and the charity that generates the most ticket sales on their given date will also be awarded a $2,500 bonus (with a minimum of 50 tickets sold). This new initiative not only provides charities an additional opportunity to raise funds, but allows ticket buyers to make the most of their holiday gift giving.


Below is the list of the charity organizations that will benefit from the “12 Days of Giving” program:

With “12 Days of Giving,” donors now have three great ways to give back to their favorite cause through the Valero Texas Open’s Birdies for Charity fundraising campaign.

(3) Attend the Valero Texas Open and register your attendance in the Tournament Charity Pavilion.


Each of these will generate charitable contributions back to a variety of deserving organizations while giving donors the opportunity to win prizes along the way, including a 2015 Ford Mustang.


Here is a brief description about each benefiting charity participating in the “12 Days of Giving:”

Dec. 1 – Kinetic Kids
Kinetic Kids helps children with special needs make dreams come true. By providing sports and recreation programs not typically available to children with special needs, they foster the development of courage, self-esteem, pride and joy so these children can achieve new possibilities previously unimaginable. They offer over 85 sports and recreation programs to over 1,500 children annually. Programs include t-ball, gymnastics, cheerleading, soccer, golf, swimming, basketball, flag football, music, Kindermusik, dance, art, and wheelchair sports. Kinetic Kids programs are designed and facilitated by physical, occupational, or speech therapists so children are able to enjoy sport and recreational activities in a safe and friendly environment. www.KineticKidsTX.org


Dec. 2 – Converse Animal Shelter
Converse Animal Shelter, Inc. is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue that provides a safe haven along with loving care and treatment to stray, abandoned, or abused dogs and cats. They prepare pets for adoption and find them homes; educate the community about responsible pet ownership and establish partnerships to promote animal welfare. CASI has served the Converse and surrounding areas for more than 30 years without any government funding. www.MyNewBestFriend.org


Dec. 3 – Roy Maas’ Youth Alternatives, Inc. (RMYA)

Roy Maas’ Youth Alternatives provides a continuum of care for children in crisis. Programs include: an emergency shelter for abused, neglected, abandoned and runaway children in immediate need of a place to stay for a short period of time; a counseling & resource center for children in our residential programs and families in the community;  a transitional living program for homeless young adults learning to live on their own; a job training program through our thrift shop; long-term residential group homes for children who have been removed from their homes due to severe abuse and neglect; and a charter school for at-risk students in 1st-12th grades. www.rmya.org


Dec. 4 – ACTS Missions
ACTS Missions was formed in 1997 for the purpose of spreading and maintaining the ACTS retreat wherever the Holy Spirit prompted it. ACTS retreats have enriched the lives of hundreds of thousands of people; men and women, teens and retirees, rich and poor, Catholic and non-Catholic, in the United States as well as other countries. It has reinvigorated the spiritual lives of individuals, of families, and of entire parishes. www.actsmissions.org


Dec. 5 – Soldiers’ Angels
Soldiers' Angels is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, their families, and the growing veteran population.  Founded in 2003 by the mother of two American soldiers, hundreds of thousands of Soldiers' Angels "Angel" volunteers assist veterans, wounded and deployed personnel and their families in a variety of unique and effective ways.  www.soldiersangels.org


Dec. 6 – North Central Rotary Club Charity Fund
North Central Rotary Club is a service organization dedicated to fellowship and focus on youth services, community enhancements and international understanding. They provide four-year scholarships for seniors in local high schools, supplemental food, literacy and program enhancements to public schools in the North Central San Antonio area. They also partner with sister clubs in Mexico, Japan, and Philippines in providing health and safety projects in those countries. Dec. 7 – Reaching Maximum Independence, Inc.
Reaching Maximum Independence, Inc. (RMI) assists adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to reach their maximum levels of independence through educational outreach, vocational and residential services.  RMI serves over 140 adults in vocational and residential services and over 9,000 children, adults and their families through educational outreach programming like Fiesta Especial® and AccessAbility fest. www.rmihomes.org


Dec. 8 – Madonna Neighborhood Centers, Inc.
Founded in 1939 by the Sisters of Divine Providence as the Girls’ Club of San Antonio, the organization has changed through the years to meet the changing needs of San Antonio. Licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services’ Child Care Licensing, they provide services for children between the ages of 2 months and 12 years. They also offer a variety of recreational and educational programs for senior citizens and families, including emergency food and clothing assistance and other basic necessities for families in crisis. www.MadonnaCenterSA.org


Dec. 9 – SA Youth
SA Youth's mission is to develop the character, strengths, talents, and skills of San Antonio’s high-risk urban youth through fun, safe experiences, positive learning environments, and holistic programs that inspire each individual to fulfill their potential personally and in the community. Helping over 6,000 children, adults and family members each year through the many comprehensive services offered by SA Youth, including their drop-out prevention and recovery programs keeping youth focused on getting an education and preparing for the world of work. www.sanantonioyouth.org


Dec. 10 – National Veterans Outreach Program
American GI Forum National Veterans Outreach Program, Inc. (NVOP) was founded to provide “hands on” services to veterans at the community level. They operate services that include employment and training for veterans, housing assistance, intensive case management, homeless veterans services, specialized services for women veterans and families, and economic development projects that include the Veterans Enterprises of Texas (VETS) box manufacturing company and the VETS Work Center.  www.agif-nvop.org


Dec. 11 – CASA of the Coastal Bend
CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children. CASA volunteers gain a firm understanding of a child’s case and serve as the “eyes and ears” of the judge who ultimately decides that child’s fate.  CASA volunteers bring a strong voice and a helping heart to find each child a safe, permanent home. www.coastalbendcasa.org


Dec. 12 – Krause Children’s Center
For 19 years, Krause Children’s Center has made a loving difference in children’s lives who have suffered severe abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment. Krause – residential treatment center for severely troubled girls ages 11 – 17 – address treatment for emotional disorders due to abuse and neglect. These children arrive at Krause with serious emotional and behavioral disorders stemming from past trauma. Beyond the basic needs of shelter, clothing, and food, Krause gives them a safe place to heal, personalized therapy and on-campus education. www.krausechildrenscenter.org
