The inaugural Valero Texas Collegiate golf tournament kicked off Friday, September 8 with a college-am event followed by a three-day tournament that concluded on Monday, September 11. The tournament held at TPC San Antonio featured some of the finest college golfers in the country as well as some storied golf programs in the NCAA.

The final round resulted in a three-man sudden death playoff, where they played hole 18 twice resulting in Joe Sullivan from Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) winning with a birdie. Inaugural Valero Texas Collegiate champion, Joe Sullivan, from Warninglid, England, has earned an exemption into the 2024 Valero Texas Open, to be contested April 4-7. Sullivan spent his first three collegiate seasons with Jacksonville and is presently a senior for FGCU.

Registration Underway: 2023-2024 Champions fore Charity

Registration for charities and school programs to participate in the no cost, zero risk fundraising program, Champions fore Charity, is presently underway. Participating organizations receive 100% of funds generated and an opportunity to earn more with incentives offered, like a 7% match provided by the Valero Texas Open and the Champions fore Charity program partners.

The seven-month campaign will kick off October 10 and will conclude in April 2024 - providing ample time to fundraise as much or as little of the season as desired. All types of philanthropies, as well as, school programs like athletic teams, dance & cheer, science programs, PTA, Project Graduation and beyond... are all welcome to participate.

Funds are generated by soliciting donations from individuals and corporations with the flexibility to pay in advance or to be billed after the tournament. Donations are accepted from anywhere around the world and are tax deductible, thanks to the Valero Texas Open's non-profit 501(c)3 status.

Internships are valuable to help gain industry experience and has significant benefits to learn and refine skillsets while furthering professional growth. Our interns play a pivotal role in tournament logistics that can be carried forward when entering the workforce.

We are currently seeking motivated, passionate, hardworking, and fun intern candidates to join our team full-time for the spring semester. This is a great opportunity to work behind the scenes of a PGA TOUR tournament and learn what it takes to execute a world-class sports and entertainment event from some of the best in the business.
