In less than 20 days, the Texas-sized celebration is coming to San Antonio, March 28 - April 3, 2022 at TPC San Antonio. Nobody does Texas hospitality like the Valero Texas Open. The success of the Valero Texas Open is due in large part to the volunteers who give generously of their time, talent and energy through our dynamic committees. You'll also play an important role in the tournament's charitable mission to raise funds and awareness for hundreds of worthy causes throughout San Antonio and the South Texas region.

Whatever the reason, we are looking for volunteering enthusiasts with a passion to help and together create a fantastic Valero Texas Open experience for PGA TOUR players, corporate sponsors and spectators alike.

Dash to the VTO presented by Humana Military
The Dash to the VTO presented by Humana Military will be held on Saturday, March 26 and will include a 5k and one-mile run/walk race around TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course. It’s a chance for participants to get a sneak peek of the tournament layout prior to the PGA TOUR competition beginning later that week.

Race entry fee includes chipped bib, race shirt and access to the post-race party. A fun event for the whole family, this race will also help raise funds and awareness for the Valero Texas Open’s Champions fore Charity fundraising program.

Stick around for the post-race party and enjoy the food, drinks and festivities after the conclusion of the race. Come join the fun!

100th Anniversary Concert Tickets Going Fast

Valero Texas Open 100th Anniversary Concert presents Jason Aldean and Darius Rucker will be a one-of-a-kind concert to celebrate the 100th anniversary on Saturday, April 2 with the three-time ACM “Entertainer of the Year,” Jason Aldean and three-time GRAMMY award winner, Darius Rucker. Walker County will kick off the concert following tournament play. All ticket holders attending Saturday’s third round competition will also be able to attend the concert.

19th Hole Fiesta
Valero Texas Open’s 19th Hole Fiesta will be held on Thursday, March 31. After the last putt drops, bar and concession service in the tournament’s Backyard will continue well into the evening along with backyard games and a concert featuring 80’s cover band the Spazmatics!

As part of the 100th anniversary celebration patrons will also be treated to a fireworks display. The 19th Hole Fiesta, an official FIESTA® San Antonio event is included in the price of admission for all Thursday ticket holders.

Celebrating Oak Hills Country Club & Our Sponsors
Back in late February, Valero Texas Open officials hosted the next historical golf course dedication event, the fourth of six dedication events leading up to tournament week. The 100th anniversary celebration continued with a luncheon held at Oak Hills Country Club filled with sponsors of the tournament.

World Golf Hall of Famer Ben Crenshaw (1973 & 1986 Texas Open Champion) sat down for a conversation with award-winning sportswriter and author, the University of Texas at Austin journalism associate professor of practice and sports journalist Kevin Robbins. The event concluded with the unveiling of a historical tournament course sign accepted by Cary Collins, Director of Golf and Operations of Oak Hills Country Club. The historical marker features the writings of Kevin Robbins highlighting the tournaments contested along with the years and storied champions contested at Oak Hills Country Club.

Celebrating La Cantera & Our Charities
Tribute historical markers have been placed at the golf courses that have hosted the tournament through the years including Brackenridge Park, Willow Springs, Fort Sam Houston, and Oak Hills Country Club. On March 1 the 100th anniversary celebration continued with a happy hour held at La Cantera Resort filled with charity representatives that participate in the annual fundraising program, Champions fore Charity.

The dedication event was held in conjunction with the Mid-Season Social on March 1 which provided a mid-season distribution of collected funds totaling $3.3M. The fundraising program has raised over $8M today with a lofty goal of $10M by April 11. Program Ambassador Randy Carroll with KJ 97 was on-hand to help celebrate the charities hard work and mid-season achievements and encourage the momentum to continue strong.

The unveiling of a historical tournament course sign accepted by Aaron Green, Director of Golf of La Cantera Resort. The historical marker features the writings of Kevin Robbins highlighting the tournaments contested along with the years and storied champions contested at Oak Hills Country Club.

The final historical marker will be unveiled at TPC San Antonio the week of the tournament.
